Post one brief. Matching Healthcare agencies in New York City reply to you.

Agencies marked Verified have been checked against four things: that the business trades under the name given, that its contact details resolve to it, that the services claimed match demonstrable work, and that the stated minimum budget reflects real engagements. The others are listed from their own websites and have not been checked yet.

Listings are ordered by membership placement, then by OAN Score. Membership does not affect the score itself. Tier is not one of its inputs, so placement cannot buy a better number. Read the full method.

Common questions about agencies for healthcare providers

How does the UK advertising code treat health products?

With a high level of scrutiny. The CAP Code, which the Advertising Standards Authority enforces, has a section on medicines, medical devices, health-related products and beauty products. The ASA’s page says medicinal claims need very high levels of evidence and that people who claim to treat must be suitably qualified. Weight control and slimming have a section of their own.

Does a US provider need permission to use patient information for marketing?

Generally yes. The HIPAA Privacy Rule requires an individual’s written authorisation before their protected health information is used or disclosed for marketing, with limited exceptions. HHS describes marketing as a communication about a product or service that encourages people to buy or use it. Ask the agency which of its data sources hold patient details before any campaign is planned.

What does HIPAA not count as marketing?

Some communications a provider or plan makes about its own care. HHS gives the example of a hospital announcing a new specialty group or new equipment through a general mailing. Treatment communications are also outside the definition, such as a pharmacy’s prescription refill reminders. Anything that falls outside these exceptions needs the person’s written authorisation first.

Can a health plan or practice sell its patient list to a marketer?

Not without authorisation from each person on the list. HHS says covered entities may not sell protected health information to a third party for that party’s own purposes. Its example is a health plan selling its members’ names to a company that sells blood glucose monitors. A list bought from a provider is a risk the agency should explain in writing.

What proof must back a health product claim in the US?

Solid proof. The Federal Trade Commission says companies must support advertising claims with it, and it names food, over-the-counter drugs, dietary supplements and contact lenses as areas where this matters most. Its Health Products Compliance Guidance explains, through more than 50 examples, how to hold the scientific support. Ask any agency writing health claims to see that support before the copy is approved.

What must an eye doctor give a patient before selling glasses?

A copy of the prescription. The FTC says its Eyeglass Rule requires ophthalmologists and optometrists to provide it, whether or not the patient asks and before offering to sell eyeglasses. A separate Contact Lens Rule, amended in 2020, requires eye care providers to give customers copies of their contact lens prescriptions. An optical practice’s offers and website should follow both.
