How the OAN Score is calculated

The five factors behind the OAN Score, what each is worth, and why membership tier is not one of them.

No listing is scored yet. A listing is scored once its agency claims it and can complete the profile the score measures; until then it shows “Not scored”. All 66 listings are waiting to be claimed.

What the score measures

The OAN Score is a measure of profile completeness and verification. It is not a client rating, a satisfaction score, or a measure of the quality of an agency’s work. We do not currently collect client reviews, and we do not publish rating data we have not gathered.

The five factors

FactorPointsWhat it looks at
Verification30Whether the listing has passed review, and how recently it was last re-checked. Decays over 12 months.
Profile completeness25How much of the profile is filled in: description, tagline, contact details, location, services and industries.
Evidence of work20Published case studies, awards and client logos. Capped, so volume alone cannot dominate.
Pricing transparency15Whether both a minimum project budget and a monthly retainer band are published.
Track record10Years trading, from the founding year. Reaches full marks at 10 years.

Membership does not affect the score

Membership tier is not an input to this calculation. A basic listing and a platinum listing with identical profiles receive an identical score. Paid placement changes where an agency appears in a sponsored slot; it cannot change the number.

How often it updates

The score is recalculated whenever an agency edits its profile, and re-checked nightly so that verification recency decays on schedule. Verification is worth full marks when a listing has been checked within the last 12 months, then declines to a floor of half marks.

What it deliberately excludes

Traffic, outbound clicks, how long an agency has been a member, and how much it pays are all excluded. Every input is a fact a buyer could confirm from the profile itself.
